Procedures to open a Securities Trading Account with KGI Asia
Having a KGI Asia Securities Trading Account allows you to trade Hong Kong Stocks, United States Stocks, China B Shares, South Korea Stocks, Thailand Stocks and other major Stocks across markets.

Complete the relevant sections of the Account Opening Form and other relevant forms found under Support Center > Forms Download.

Obtain copies of the following supporting documents:
i . Individual/Joint Account
- ID card(s) or passport(s) of all account holders; and
- Copy of a bank statement or utility bill for the last three-month time for proof of home address.
- Copies of a bank account statement of the latest three-month if your designated bank account is outside Hong Kong.
ii. Corporate Account

Certified True Copy of the Certificate of Incorporation (or Business Registration Certificate or other evidence of due incorporation), Memorandum and Articles of Association (or other constitutional documents) of the Client;

Certified copies of the audited accounts of the Client for the latest two years and a balance sheet not more than two months before the date on the Account Opening Form, or such other financial information as KGI Asia would from time to time agree to accept;

Details of the ownership and structure of the company (e.g. an ownership chart for companies with multiple layers which should include the company's name, place of incorporation, shareholdings and nature of business in director's declaration);

If the shareholders of the company are corporate shareholders, the organizational chart and shareholder records must list out all the individuals who ultimately own or control the company.

A certified true copy of the result of a company search certified by a company registry or professional third party^ issued within the last 6 months (If client cannot provide a certified true copy of Company Search Report, KGI Asia will perform a company search on behalf of the client and the client will be charged for a company search fee* of HKD200.);

A certificate of incumbency** or its equivalent issued by the company's registering agent in the place of incorporation. A certified true copy certified by a professional third party^ issued within 6 months is also acceptable; and

Proof of identity such as Hong Kong ID card(s) or passport(s) of all Authorised Persons, Beneficial Owner and Directors.

Submit the Account Opening Form, W-8BEN(Individuals) / W-8BEN-E(Entities) and supporting documents to us. You can:

Bring with you the Account Opening Form, W-8BEN(Individuals) / W-8BEN-E(Entities) and copies of all supporting documents to one of KGI Asia's offices in Hong Kong for certification (signing and sighting) by a KGI Asia employee.
Once your application is reviewed and approved, a Login User Name will be assigned to you. After a few days, you will receive a separate mail containing your WebTrade Login Password for accessing KGI Asia WebTrade.
Note:
It will normally take 3 business days (HKT) to process an account opening application and you will not be able to trade immediately unless sufficient funds or stocks are deposited into your Trading Account.

- Please apply eDDA Deposit service with a bank account in Hong Kong.
- Your bank account name for applying eDDA Deposit service must match exactly the name on your KGI Asia Account and your registered bank account.
- Your HKID number for applying eDDA Deposit service must match exactly with the record with KGI Asia. Some banks may also require your mobile phone number. (Third party transfer is not allowed. Otherwise, refund fee incurred will be borne by client)
Under the HKIDR, we will have to assign an identification code (“Broker-Client Assigned Number” or “BCAN”) to each of our clients and tag the BCAN to the clients’ securities orders. We will also have to submit to SEHK’s data repository the identification data (i.e., names and identity document information) of clients placing securities orders on SEHK or who conduct off-exchange trades reportable to SEHK.
Under the OTCR, information about OTC securities transactions in ordinary shares and real estate investment trusts listed on SEHK as well as deposits and withdrawals of physical share certificates will be reported to the SFC.
Separately, we may, on an optional basis, identify subscribers for shares in initial public offering (IPO) with the BCAN when the Fast Interface for New Issuance (“FINI”) of SEHK is launched in about the fourth quarter of 2022.

The Company should ensure the confidentiality and protection of the Whistleblower’s identity and the contents of the suspected concern.
