{Short Sales}Half-day T/O at HK$8bn, or 12% of Total
[ET Net News Agency, 30 August 2024] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$67.52
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$7.88 billion, or 11.67% of the market's
turnover. There were 620 short-selling stocks. MEITUAN-W (03690) and PING AN (02318) saw
higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$793.88 million and HK$466.94 million, or
10.08% and 5.93% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented
19.47% and 24.21% of respective stock's turnover.
XI2CSOPHSTECH (07552) and TENCENT (00700) registered HK$393.65 million and HK$391.39
million of short sales, accounting for 5% and 4.97% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 64.8% and 12.43% of respective stock's
turnover.
MEITUAN-W closed up HK$3.5, or 3.03%, to HK$119.2. PING AN ended up HK$1.65, or 4.57%,
to HK$37.75. XI2CSOPHSTECH fell HK$0.39, or 5.97% to HK$6.14. TENCENT jumped HK$4, or
1.06%, to HK$381.6.
