{Short Sales}Full-day T/O at HK$15bn, or 16% of Total
[ET Net News Agency, 27 August 2024] Full-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$91.92
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$14.68 billion, or 15.97% of the market's
turnover. There were 645 short-selling stocks. BABA-SW (09988) and TENCENT (00700) saw
higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$966.26 million and HK$779.5 million, or
6.58% and 5.31% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented
14.23% and 14.98% of respective stock's turnover.
MEITUAN-W (03690) and TRACKER FUND (02800) registered HK$764.5 million and HK$669.06
million of short sales, accounting for 5.21% and 4.56% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 16.97% and 11.35% of respective stock's
turnover.
BABA-SW closed down HK$3.35, or 4.02%, to HK$79.95. TENCENT ended down HK$0.2, or 0.05%,
to HK$381.8. MEITUAN-W fell HK$2.8, or 2.57% to HK$106.2. TRACKER FUND jumped HK$0.1, or
0.54%, to HK$18.47.
