{Short Sales}Full-day T/O at HK$17bn, or 19% of Total
[ET Net News Agency, 22 July 2024] Full-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$93.42
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$17.34 billion, or 18.56% of the market's
turnover. There were 635 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and TENCENT (00700)
saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$3.42 billion and HK$1.45 billion, or
19.75% and 8.36% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented
52.16% and 22.99% of respective stock's turnover.
MEITUAN-W (03690) and CSOP HS TECH (03033) registered HK$1.01 billion and HK$622.62
million of short sales, accounting for 5.8% and 3.59% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 27.2% and 23.17% of respective stock's
turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed up HK$0.24, or 1.33%, to HK$18.22. TENCENT ended up HK$9.2, or
2.53%, to HK$373.2. MEITUAN-W rose HK$3.8, or 3.23% to HK$121.3. CSOP HS TECH jumped
HK$0.068, or 1.95%, to HK$3.548.
