{Short Sales}Full-day T/O at HK$17bn, or 16% of Total
[ET Net News Agency, 17 July 2024] Full-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$104.96
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$16.62 billion, or 15.84% of the market's
turnover. There were 655 short-selling stocks. TENCENT (00700) and TRACKER FUND (02800)
saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.58 billion and HK$1.41 billion, or
9.5% and 8.51% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented
16.4% and 28.87% of respective stock's turnover.
MEITUAN-W (03690) and BABA-SW (09988) registered HK$673.05 million and HK$557.71 million
of short sales, accounting for 4.05% and 3.36% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 24.41% and 16.91% of respective stock's
turnover.
TENCENT closed down HK$6.2, or 1.64%, to HK$371.8. TRACKER FUND ended flat, to HK$18.28.
MEITUAN-W rose HK$1.6, or 1.36% to HK$119.1. BABA-SW jumped HK$0.8, or 1.06%, to HK$76.3.
