{Short Sales}Half-day T/O at HK$9bn, or 15% of Total

[ET Net News Agency, 17 July 2024] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$56.69
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$8.78 billion, or 15.48% of the market's
turnover. There were 610 short-selling stocks. TENCENT (00700) and TRACKER FUND (02800)
saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.13 billion and HK$594.13 million, or
12.86% and 6.77% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented
19.32% and 32.74% of respective stock's turnover.
CNOOC (00883) and HSCEI ETF (02828) registered HK$380.77 million and HK$324.35 million
of short sales, accounting for 4.34% and 3.7% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 11.56% and 16.85% of respective stock's
turnover.
TENCENT closed down HK$5, or 1.32%, to HK$373. TRACKER FUND ended up HK$0.02, or 0.11%,
to HK$18.3. CNOOC fell HK$1.15, or 5.16% to HK$21.15. HSCEI ETF declined by HK$0.04, or
0.06%, to HK$64.78.
