{Short Sales}Full-day T/O at HK$19bn, or 20% of Total

[ET Net News Agency, 16 July 2024] Full-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$94.24
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$19.06 billion, or 20.23% of the market's
turnover. There were 645 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and PING AN (02318)
saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$2.06 billion and HK$1.29 billion, or
10.82% and 6.74% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented
45.45% and 29.73% of respective stock's turnover.
TENCENT (00700) and CCB (00939) registered HK$945.58 million and HK$800.46 million of
short sales, accounting for 4.96% and 4.2% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 13.01% and 38.97% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed down HK$0.3, or 1.61%, to HK$18.28. PING AN ended down HK$1.95, or
5.41%, to HK$34.1. TENCENT fell HK$12.2, or 3.13% to HK$378. CCB declined by HK$0.15, or
2.67%, to HK$5.47.
