{Short Sales}Full-day T/O at HK$17bn, or 18% of Total
[ET Net News Agency, 9 July 2024] Full-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$94.33
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$16.92 billion, or 17.94% of the market's
turnover. There were 665 short-selling stocks. TENCENT (00700) and MEITUAN-W (03690) saw
higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.49 billion and HK$870.41 million, or
8.82% and 5.14% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented
30.24% and 23.09% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND (02800) and CCB (00939) registered HK$789.65 million and HK$618.62 million
of short sales, accounting for 4.67% and 3.66% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 18.02% and 30.95% of respective stock's
turnover.
TENCENT closed up HK$2.4, or 0.63%, to HK$381. MEITUAN-W ended down HK$2.3, or 1.97%, to
HK$114.7. TRACKER FUND fell HK$0.03, or 0.17% to HK$18.05. CCB jumped HK$0.01, or 0.19%,
to HK$5.38.
