A-shares resumed trading today after a long holiday, and performance fluctuated downward. Hong Kong stock market turned weak today. The HSI opened 37 points higher and then fell, falling 142 points or 0.7% to 20,647 at mid-day; the HSCEI fell 67 points or 0.9% to 7,576; and the HSTECH fell 30 points to 4,946. The total market turnover for mid-day was HK$114.22bn. It was reported that the US will cancel the minimum tax exemption for Chinese imported packages. JD.com (9618) share price fell 3.7%. Gold price hit a new high, with Shandong Gold (1787) rising 8.2% at mid-day.
