Half Day Roundup
U.S. stocks performed well. Hong Kong stocks opened slightly higher by 8 points, opening at 17,205 points. It rose 48 points or 0.3% in half a day to 17,244 points. The HSCEI Index rose 23 points or 0.4% to 6,026 points. The Hang Seng Technology Index rose 3 points or 0.1%, reported 3,440 points. The total half-day turnover of the market was HK$62.4 billion. An update of Southbound Trading List, including Alibaba (9988), which rose 4.7%, while Shimao Group (813) and CIFI (884) were removed, and their share prices fell by 20%. In addition, the United States passed the biosafety bill, and WuXi AppTec (2359) and WuXi Biologics (2269) fell 8.3% and 3.9% respectively.
