The market is looking forward to this week's Fed FOMC meeting, and with the suspension of Hong Kong Stock Connect during the China holiday, Hong Kong stock market were quiet today. After opening 116 points lower, the HSI once fell 192 points, and then narrowed significantly. HSI fell 50 points or 0.3% at mid-day, to close at 17,318; the HSCEI fell 21 points, or 0.4%, to 6,049; the HSTECH fell 12 points or 0.4%, to close at 3,467. The market's mid-day turnover was HK$26.36bn. There was news that Apple's iPhone 16 series first weekend bookings were 13% less than the iPhone 15 series. Mobile phone parts stocks fell, with Sunny (2382) and AAC (2018) falling 0.3% and 4.2% respectively.
