China's August CPI and PPI were both worse than market consensus and Asia-Pacific markets fell collectively. Hong Kong market fell today. The HSI opened 182 points lower and then expanded its losses, falling 349 points or 2% at mid-day to 17,094; the HSCEI fell 141 points or 2.3% to 5,963; the HSTECH fell 71 points or 2% to 3,416. The total mid-day market turnover was HK$61.67bn. The CIH said residents' sentiment for property market declined in August, and mainland property stocks generally fell, with losses ranging from 4.8% to 6.9%. Domestic demand stocks generally declined, with Haier Smart Home (6690) and Mengniu (2319) falling 6.2% and 4.0% respectively.
