The Hang Seng Index opened flat this morning, at 17,085 points, and fell 40 points, or 0.2%, to 17,045 points throughout the day. The H-Share Index rose 5 points, or 0.1%, to 5,859 points. The Hang Seng Technology Index rose 12 points, or 0.3%, to 3,712 points. The total market turnover was HK$80.8 bn. Li Ning (2331) announced third-quarter operating data that was worse than market expectations, falling 20.7% to HK$23.95, dragging down peer Anta (2020) to fall 5.3%. The Hong Kong Stock Exchange (388) break record low and fell 1.8% to HK$273.2. Standard Chartered (2888)'s third-quarter earnings was worse than expected, and its stock price fell 11.4%.
