Market Roundup
The Hong Kong stock market fell today. The Hang Seng Index opened 470 points lower and at one point expanded to a drop of 576 points, closing down 301 points or 1.45% at 20,427 points. The China Enterprises Index fell 106 points or 1.4% to 7,355 points. The Hang Seng Tech Index fell 16 points or 0.3% to 4,652 points. The total market turnover for the day was HKD 204.3 billion. It was reported that the United States has asked TSMC (TSM.US) to stop supplying AI chips to China. SMIC (0981) rose 3.3% against the market trend. Dongfeng Group (489) announced the release of the first fully domestically produced car chip, and its stock price rose 17.6%.
