Market Roundup
The market is looking forward to the easing of tariff issues between China and the U.S., and Hong Kong stock market performed well today. The HSI opened 517 points higher and maintained that level until the close, rising 510 points or 2.4% to 22,072. The HSCEI rose 165 points or 2.1% to 8,116; and the HSTECH rose 150 points or 3.1% to 5,049. The total market turnover was HK$260.62bn. Apple component-related stocks generally performed well, with Cowell Electronics (1415), AAC Technologies (2018) and BYD Electronics (0085) rising 5.8% to 7.2%. Regarding auto stocks, BYD (1211) issued additional bonus shares in the form of a "one-for-three" stock split, and its share price rose 3.9%.
