The National Bureau of Statistics released the PMI data for October. The Hang Seng Index opened 34 points higher at 20,414 points but turned down by 63 points or 0.31% for the day, closing at 20,317 points. The China Enterprises Index fell by 22 points or 0.3%, closing at 7,264 points. The Hang Seng Tech Index dropped by 14 points or 0.32%, closing at 4,499 points. The total market turnover for the day was HKD 154.4 billion. Xiaomi (1810) reached a high of HKD 27.3 today, closing up 2.7% at HKD 26.7. The National Development and Reform Commission is promoting renewable energy substitution actions, with Xinyi Solar (968) and Longyuan Power (916) rising by 3.6% and 2.8% respectively.
