Despite no communication between the US and Chinese presidents, the Hong Kong stock market opened slightly lower by 33 points, starting at 20,858 points. The Hang Seng Index turned around in the first half of the day, rising 319 points or 1.5% to 21,211 points; the China Enterprises Index rose 113 points or 1.5% to 7,804 points; and the Hang Seng Tech Index rose 141 points or 2.8% to 5,200 points. The total market turnover for the first half of the day was 129.2 billion HKD. Chinese tech stocks continued to perform well, driven by the DeepSeek concept, with Lenovo (992) up 7.5% and Tencent (700) up 2.7%. Additionally, BYD (1211) is set to release new intelligent driving technology, with its stock price rising 5.2%.
