Market Roundup

The Hang Seng Index opened 116 points higher, initially rising 252 points to 23,596 points. It then narrowed its gains to 6 points, reaching 23,350 points, but managed to close the day up 139 points or 0.6% at 23,483 points. The China Enterprises Index rose 38 points or 0.4% to 8,654 points. The Hang Seng Tech Index increased by 55 points or 1% to 5,573 points. The total market turnover for the day was HKD 199.7 billion. Shenzhou International (2313) stated that it has emerged from the trough of its operations and returned to growth, with its stock price rose by 12.6%.
