Hong Kong stocks retreated on the second trading day in September. The Hang Seng Index opened 127 points lower at 18,717 point. The half-day decline expanded to close at 18,560 points at noon, down 284 points or 1.5%. The H-Share Index fell 96 points or 1.5%. At 6,437 points. The Hang Seng Technology Index fell 65 points, or 1.5%, to 4,240 points. The market turnover was HK$ 50.7 bn. Mainland real estate stocks generally fell today, with China Resources Land (1109) falling 4.8% and China Overseas Holdings (688) falling 3.2%. In addition, L'Occitane (973) decided not to propose a full acquisition, and its stock price fell 25% when it resumed trading today.
