U.S. stocks performed well last night. The Hang Seng Index opened 93 points higher in the morning, at 17,662 points, but fell 63 points or 0.4% to 17,506 points in the first half of the day; the HSCEI Index fell 33 points or 0.5% to 6,193 points; the Hang Seng Technology Index fell 14 points, or 0.4%, to 3,503 points. The total half-day turnover of the market was HK$40.3 billion. The target price of CHINA RES BEER (291) was lowered, and the stock price fell 6.4%. Coal stocks generally fell today, with Yancoal Australia (3668), Yankuang Energy (1171) and Shenhua (1088) fell 15.2%, 8.5% and 2.5% respectively. As the Israeli-Palestinian war shows cooling signal and oil prices fell, the share prices of PetroChina (857) and CNOOC (883) fell by 3.5% and 2.4%.
