After being closed for one day due to weather on Friday, the Hang Seng Index opened 261 points lower today at 17,941 point, the decline expanded, falling 306 points or 1.7% in half a day to 17,896 points. The H-Share Index fell 89 points or 1.4% to 6,225 points. The Hang Seng Technology Index fell 80 points, or 2%, to 4,011 point. The market turnover was HK$60.6 bin. China and Hong Kong real estate stocks fell. SHKP (00016) fell more than 9% with record low. Henderson Land (12) and New World Dev (17) both fell more than 5%. Country Garden (2007) and Longfor (960) also suffered losses and fell more than 6%.
