U.S. stocks performed well last night. The Hang Seng Index opened 93 points higher in the morning, at 17,662 points, but fell 58 points or 0.3% to 17,511 points throughout the day; the HSCEI Index fell 30 points or 0.5% to 6,195 points; the Hang Seng Technology Index fell 19 points, or 0.5%, to 3,498 points. The total daily turnover of the market was HK$74.5 billion. The target price of CHINA RES BEER (291) was lowered, and the stock price fell 5.6%. Coal stocks generally fell today, with Yancoal Australia (3668), Yankuang Energy (1171) and Shenhua (1088) falling 14.1%, 7.2% and 0.9% respectively. Oil prices fell as the Israeli-Palestinian war shows cooling signal. The share prices of PetroChina (857) and CNOOC (883) fell by 2.3% and 1.9% respectively.
