On the eve of the implementation of tariff measures, the United States reached an agreement with Canada and Mexico to delay the tax increase by one month, leading to a rebound in global stock markets. The Hang Seng Index opened 271 points higher at 20,488 points, once rising nearly 670 points. By midday, the gain narrowed to 405 points or 2%, closing at 20,622 points. The China Enterprises Index rose 190 points or 2.6% to 7,574 points, and the Hang Seng Tech Index rose 185 points or 3.9% to 4,922 points. The total market turnover for the half-day was 89 billion HKD. It was reported that SMIC (981) broke through the 5nm technology, and its stock price rose by 6.8%.
