The Central Economic Work Conference was held in Beijing a few days ago. The lack of specific figures disappointed the market, and Hong Kong stock market fell today. After opening 158 points lower, the HSI expanded its losses and closed down 339 points, or nearly 1.7%, at 20,057 at mid-day. The HSCEI closed at 7,221, down 138 points or 1.9%. The HSTECH closed at 4,510, down 89 points or nearly 2%. The mid-day market turnover was HK$76.81bn. Domestic demand stocks generally fell, with stocks such as Budweiser Asia Pacific (1876), Haidilao (6862) and Anta (2020) falling between 2.6% and 5.7%.
