Driven by artificial intelligence and autonomous driving, the Hong Kong stock market performed well. The HSI opened 231 points higher this morning and extended its gains, rising 331 points or 1.6% at mid-day to 21,626. The HSCEI rose 118 points or 1.5% to 7,961; and the HSTECH rose 61 points or 1.2% to 5,203. The total market turnover was HK$151.8bn. There are rumors that Apple is cooperating with Alibaba (9988) to develop artificial intelligence for iPhone users in China. Alibaba's share price rose 6.7%. BYD-related stocks continued to be hotly discussed in the market for autonomous driving, with BYD (01211) and BYD Electronics (0285) rising 6.1% and 6.2% respectively.
