Hong Kong stock market fluctuated today. The HSI opened 73 points lower and then fell 153 points in the morning. It rose 161 points to 16,896, while turned fell at mid-day. The HSI fell 14 points or 0.1% at mid-day to 16,709; the HSCEI was flat to close at 5,864; the HSTECH fell 14 points or 0.4% to 3,436. The total half-day turnover of the market was HK$60.59bn. Gold mining stocks continued to perform well, with the share prices of Zijin (2899), Shandong Gold (1787) and Zhaojin (1818) rising by 1.7%, 5.4% and 6.9% respectively. Fujian Province introduced subsidy policies to promote automobile consumption, and BYD (1211) rose 2.1%.
