Half Day Roundup
The Hang Seng Index opened 116 points lower this morning, at 16,979 points. The index's half-day decline expanded to 295 points, or 1.7%, to 16,799 points; the H-Share Index fell 90 points, or 1.5%, to 5,914 points; the Hang Seng Technology Index fell 38 points, or 1.1 %, quoted at 3,500 points. The total half-day turnover of the market was HK$57.2 billion. Gold-related stocks continued to rallied, with Zijin Mining (2899) and Shandong Gold (1787) rising 1.1% and 3.2%. Fast Retailing (6288) raised its full-year guidance, but its stock price still fell 0.4%.
