The USD/CNY offshore rate fell below 7, while Hong Kong stock market rose in morning. The HSI opened 591 points higher and then slightly narrowed its gains, rising 381 points or 2% at mid-day to 19,382; the HSCEI rose 155 points or 2.3% to 6,870; the HSTECH rose 92 points or 2.4% to 4,008. . The total mid-day market turnover increased to HK$151.1bn. Insurance and brokerage stocks continued to outperform the market, with Ping An (2318) and CICC (3908) each rising more than 5%. Domestic demand stocks generally rose. Miniso (9896), whose share price fell sharply yesterday, rebounded 5.4% today.
