Half Day Roundup

Hong Kong stocks continued to be weak before the holiday. The HSI fell 282 points after opening 44 points lower. After that, the decline narrowed, HSI fell 131 points or 0.6% in mid-day to 20,278; the HSCEI fell 68 points or 1% to 6,872; the HSTECH fell 69 points or 1.6% to 4,233. The half-day total turnover of the market was HK$64.30bn. Chinese technology stocks generally fell today, Tencent (0700) and Alibaba (9988) fell 0.4% and 3.2% respectively. Mainland sporting goods stocks were under pressure, Li Ning (2331) and Anta (2020) fell 5.8% and 3.0%.
