The Bureau of Statistics of China announced that the CPI for July fell by 0.3% YoY, which was better than the consensus of 0.4%. The HSI opened 124 points lower and narrowed its losses to 10 points before noon. The HSI closed at 19,246 points today, up 61 points or 0.3%. The HSTECH closed flat at 4,373. The HSCEI rose 25 points, or 0.4%, to 6,613. Market turnover was 85.0bn. Financial stocks fell along with US banking stocks today. HSBC (0005) and AIA (1299) fell 0.2% and 1.1% respectively. Li Auto (2015) 3Q delivery target missed market expectations, share price fell 5.5%.
