Hong Kong stock market fell today and trading volume shrank. The HSI opened 114 points lower and then expanded its losses. It fell 384 points or 1.86% at mid-day to 20,316. The HSCEI fell 154 points or 2.1% to 7,263. The HSTECH fell 121 points or 2.6% to close at 4,502. The total mid-day market turnover was HK$86.82bn. Resource stocks CHALCO (2600) and Jiangxi Copper (0358) reported quarterly profits that were lower than expected, and their stock prices fell 10.0% and 7.9% respectively. Xiaomi's monthly delivery volume reached 20,000 vehicles, and it is expected to complete the full-year delivery target of 100,000 vehicles next month. Xiaomi (1810) fell 1.2% at mid-day.
