U.S. stocks were closed for the Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday. Hong Kong stocks opened 140 points lower this morning, at 17,771 points. The half-day decline further expanded to 247 points, or 1.4%, to 17,663 points. The H-Share Index fell 95 points, or 1.6%, to 6,075 points; the Hang Seng Technology Index fell 66 points, or 1.6%, to 4,050 points. The total half-day turnover of the market was HK$41.3 billion. Chow Tai Fook (1929) mainland same-store sales fell sharply, and the stock price fell 9.5% to HK$10.9. China property stocks gave up gains today, with Country Garden (2007) fell 6.7% and CIFI (884) fell 5%.
