Half Day Roundup

The Hang Seng Index opened 23 points higher at 18,453 points and fell 88 points or 0.5% in half a day to 18,341 points; the HSCEI Index fell 30 points or 0.5% to 6,557 points; the Hang Seng Technology Index fell 51 points or 1.3% to 3,780 points. The total half-day turnover of the market was HK$55.252 billion. Oil stocks continued to perform today, with Sinopec (386), PetroChina (857) and CNOOC (883) rising 1.9%, 2.1% and 2.9% respectively. Among chip stocks, Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (981) continued its momentum, rose nearly 4%. However, consumer stocks were relatively under pressure, with Mengniu (2319) and Anta (2020) both fell by more than 3%.
