The RMBUSD rose while Hong Kong stock market continued to perform well today. The HSI opened 21 points lower and then rebounded, rising 100 points or 0.6% at mid-day to 18,359. The HSCEI rose 47 points or 0.7% to 6,428. The HSTECH rose 26 points or 0.7% to close at 3,730. The total mid-day market turnover was HK$66.75bn. Home appliance stocks generally rose, with semi-new stock Midea (0300) rising 7.2% at mid-day. Haier Smart Home (6690) both rose 3.3%. It was reported that Xiaomi Motors plans to deliver end-to-end smart driving within the year, and Xiaomi (1810) rose 3.9%.
