The Hong Kong stock market opened slightly lower by 15 points after the Christmas holiday, starting at 20,083 points. The trend was volatile, with a maximum drop of 89 points, closing down 8 points at 20,090 points. The China Enterprises Index rose by 1 point to close at 7,305 points, and the Hang Seng Tech Index rose by 31 points or 0.7% to close at 4,538 points. The total market turnover for the day was HKD 139.5 billion. Xiaomi (1810) stated that its R&D expenses might reach HKD 30 billion next year, and its stock price rose by 4.3%. In terms of sectors, consumer stocks were weak, with Nongfu Spring (9633) down 4.1% and Haidilao (6862) down 3.5%.
