Hang Seng Index were volatile today. The Hang Seng Index opened 106 points higher at 17497 point. It initially rose 146 points to 17,537 points and then fell back. It once fell 1 point to a low of 17,389 points. It rose 69 points or 0.4% in half a day to 17,460 points; the HSCEI Index rose 12 points or 0.2% to 6,154 points; the Hang Seng Technology Index rose 27 points or 0.8% to 3,461 points. The total half-day turnover of the market was HK$49.625 billion. Xiaomi (1810) announced its results and its automobile gross profit margin was surprising. Its stock price rose 8.3% to HK$18.98. AIA (1299)'s mid-term new business value rose 21%, in line with expectations, and its stock price rose 4.7%.
