The Hang Seng Index opened 87 points higher at 19,328 points, but its performance was volatile throughout the day. The Hang Seng Index closed at 19,064 points, down 176 points or 0.9%. The Hang Seng Tech Index closed at 4,261 points, down 50 points or 1.2%. The China Enterprises Index fell 81 points or 1.1% to 6,898 points. The market turnover was 144.6bn. On its first day of listing, Bloks (325) saw its stock price rise by over 80% at its peak, closing up 40% at HKD 85. Among Hong Kong real estate stocks, New World Development (17) continued to decline, with its stock price falling 4.7% to HKD 4.44, hitting a new low.
