The Hang Seng Index opened 23 points higher, at 18,453 points, and fell 95 points, or 0.5%, to 18,335 points for the day; the HSCEI Index fell 32 points, or 0.5%, to 6,556 points; the Hang Seng Technology Index fell 64 points, or 1.7%, to 3,768 points. The total daily turnover of the market was HK$103.5 billion. Oil stocks continued to perform today, with Sinopec (386), PetroChina (857) and CNOOC (883) rising 1.9%, 2.3% and 3.5% respectively. Among chip stocks, Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (981) continued its momentum, rose 1.5%. However, consumer stocks were relatively under pressure, with Mengniu (2319) and Anta (2020) fell 2.7% and 3.1% respectively.Source: KGI Asia Investment Strategy
