Market Roundup

The Hang Seng Index opened 51 points higher at 19,612 points and rose 305 points or 1.56% throughout the day to close at 19,866 points. The China Enterprises Index rose 122 points or 1.7% to 7,136 points. The Hang Seng Tech Index rose 94 points or 2.1% to 4,465 points. The total market turnover for the day was HKD 162.8 billion. The WuXi series performed well, with WuXi AppTec (2359) and WuXi Biologics (2269) rising 9.2% and 5.5% respectively. The worst performer was China Hongqiao (1378), which fell by 2%.
