Hong Kong stock market fell today as the US non-farm payrolls data released last Friday exceeded market consensus. The HSI opened 146 points lower and then widened its losses, falling 256 points or 1.3% at mid-day to 18,807; the HSCEI fell 78 points or 1.1% to 6,819; and the HSTECH fell 58 points or 1.4% to 4,202. The total market turnover was HK$80.93bn. Sunny Optical (2382)'s mobile phone lens shipments fell 1.9% yoy last month and its share price fell 1.2%. WuXi XDC (2268) was sold off by shareholders, with its share price plummeting 11.7% at mid-day.
