Hong Kong stock market continued to perform well after the National Day holiday. The HSI opened 155 points higher and then expanded its gains, rising 1,268 points or 6% at mid-day to 22,401; the HSCEI rose 541 points or 7.2% to 8,051 points; the HSTECH rose 414 points or 6.7%, reported at 5,166 points. The mid-day market turnover totaled HK$235.4bn. Mainland property stocks generally rose, with private companies Shimao (0813), Agile (03383) and CIFI (0884) rising by 64% to 87%. Midea (0300), home appliance stock, rose 11%. Heavyweight stocks generally rose, with Tencent (0700) and Alibaba (9988) rising 6% and 6.8% respectively.
