US President Trump plans to impose new tariffs on imports of electronic products and semiconductors, and Hong Kong stock market performed well today. The HSI opened 449 points higher and continued its upward trend, rising 504 points or 2.4% to 21,419 at mid-day; the HSCEI rose 168 points or 2.2% to 7,970; the HSTECH rose 131 points or 2.7% to 5,032. The total market turnover was HK$154.26 bn. The market is looking forward to the return of Chinese stocks to Hong Kong for listing. The HKEX (0388) rose 7.2% today. The reciprocal tariffs on electronic products and semiconductor imports have been suspended. PC maker Lenovo Group (0992) rose 4.1% at mid-day.
