Hong Kong stock market fell today after US President Trump said he was considering imposing extra 10% tariff on Chinese goods starting next month. The HSI opened 109 points lower and then extended its losses to close at 19,778, down 327 points or 1.6%. The HSTECH closed at 4,581, down 112 points or 2.4%. The HSCEI fell 143 points, or 2.0%, to 7,177. The market turnover was HK$135.32bn. New Oriental (9901)’s quarterly results were weaker than expected and its share price fell 24.2% today. Coal stock Shenhua (1088) plans to have a dividend payout ratio of no less than 65% for 2025-2027. Its share price closed flat today.
