The Hang Seng Index opened 45 points lower in early trading, starting at 20,433 points. By midday, the index had risen by 107 points or 0.5%, reaching 20,585 points. The China Enterprises Index increased by 53 points or 0.7%, reaching 7,393 points. The Hang Seng Tech Index rose by 63 points or 1.4%, reaching 4,555 points. The total market turnover for the half-day was HK$90.1 billion. In terms of sector performance, automobile stocks were favored, with Li Auto (2015) and Geely Auto (175) rising by 7.4% and 7.7%, respectively. On the other hand, Citigroup had a pessimistic outlook on Baidu’s (9888) advertising revenue performance, causing its stock price to drop by 2.36%.
